Materials Application: Architectural and Structural
TASK
Individually, students must select a 'interesting' building created by one of the architects listed. Based on the chosen building, the student must identify five (5) architectural construction materials and two (2) structural building materials. Students must also research the principles and concepts underlying the material and construction decision. In addition, students must explain the installation of one (1) of the materials used on the chosen structure. Buildings can be of any age or time period. The findings must be neatly documented on two (2) A3 sheets.
Reflection
This project taught me a lot on the basic construction, how they work and apply in a critical situation. Besides that, this helps me in knowing many of the famous architecture that I might not know or heard before. However, there is also many improvements that can be made, for examples the design for the poster could be better to present the information and the images clearer. Not only that, I realize that I need to research into much deeper for better understanding of the building and the aarchitect.
